The San Jose City Council District 6 Office has responded to inquiries noting that they have:

"...reached out to the Historic Landmarks Committee. They informed me that PAC SJ did a reconnaissance survey of historic signs in the City and that (the Neon Orchard Supply Hardware sign) was included.

In addition, History San Jose has a collection of historic signs and would likely accept the sign."

This is great to hear but it does not mean the City is taking a proactive approach to secure the sign.  It is important that we work now to preserve the sign before it is liquidated as part of the companies assets as they wind down.
