Please stop the "Pig Scramble" at the Westmorland County Fair in Petitcodiac. The pig scramble is cruel to the innocent 2 month old piglets because it causes unnecessary anxiety and they get confused. It also teaches kids its ok to mistreat animals. We as a society and mature adults should be educating the kids that this type of mistreatment towards an animal will not be tolerated. The pig scramble involves 10 to 15 children at once chasing the smallest little piglets, running after them, grabbing them by whatever they can get a hold on, stuffing the babies into sacks, and dragging them through the arena to get back to the point where they started the start/finish line. It's 2017 animal cruelty is becoming a huge focus for people and times have changed. The fair needs to focus on finding another huge money maker that does not involve animals in general. It is not just people from other provinces who see and think the pig scramble is cruelty, it's time that the fairs committee members all focus on the year we are in and see the cruelty involved.
