Dear all, I am delighted to inform you that last night the LLDC Planning Committee has voted to *unanimously* reject the applications for the creation of 3 concrete production and batching factories in Bow East Goods Yard. Citing noise & design issues, but more importantly a lack of alignment with the Regeneration Agenda and the changing nature of the area, the Committee has decided to adopt the case officers' recommendation and refuse the go ahead to the applicants. This is a massive achievement which undoubtedly would have failed, was it not for your extraordinary support - your signatures, your comments, your letters and contributions - created real momentum which decision makers had to take into consideration. Today we will be celebrating our victory, but keep in mind that the applicants are likely to appeal this decision and will try to take the decision to another authority, perhaps more sympathetic to their interests.
