If we get 5,000 signatures we can demand a full debate at Cornwall Council. At that point councillors will have to publicly declare if they think the people of Cornwall should decide whether there is a Mayor. Or just 44 councillors. 

UPDATES....

1. We are hearing that a growing number of Conservative councillors are against the Mayor. They are listening to their local voters who overwhelmingly oppose the idea. Do you know how your own councillor will vote on this? If not please do ask them - and lobby them too. You can find your councillor's phone and email here:

2. In the most shocking news, we have been told that if there is a Mayoral election next year, the winner will be allowed to stay in power for six years. Seriously. They would remain in post before and after the next council elections in 2025... until 2029. This is how crazy the proposal has a become. 

3. We now have campaign teams in most larger Cornish towns ready with stalls, boards, leaflets, rosettes and petitions. If you want to help them please let us know and we will link you up with them.
