Well, we learned this week that being able to speak in front of council takes a lot of steps and needs to fall into the correct category.
First, your deputation must be related to a meeting's agenda item. If not, one must apply to speak and hope that one of the councilors will request for the item to be put on the agenda and then an invitation will be given.
Second, if you are presenting a petition, you must send in the petition with a request for it to be read by council. Again, a councilor will need to request the petition to be read and an invitation may be given.
It seems pretty locked up, but we will request to speak to council and try to get all the information in the allowed 5 minutes.
Mayor Amy Martin and/or Norfolk County Councilors are supposed to receive our updates. Please don't ignore it. Please allow us to have 5 minutes of your time to speak on the importance of Animal Services in Norfolk County. Please ask for us to be added to a Council Meeting's Agenda.
While we wait, let's share and get more signatures! We need to find a way for Norfolk County to hear the pleas of every injured, sick and dying animal that need our help!
