Webcams Installed at all Glass House Mountain Carparks

Webcams Installed at all Glass House Mountain Carparks
The issue
My intention is to encourage action to be taken with the local council to install webcams at all Glass House Mountain Carparks (Rick Baberowski division 1)
On Saturday 27th August just like another day for me, as I pretty much climb mountains every week, when I arrived at Wild Horse Mountain Carpark there were two cars with three people and yep they looked dodgy, I didn't trust my instinct, I was in my "go mode" and didn't stop, breathe and check in with my gut feel, one of the guys came and spoke to me, had a good yarn, which gave me peace not to judge and they were just probably camping illegally, so off myself and two other ladies went walking which was only a 15min walk up, I blocked away any negative thoughts though I really was ignoring my intuition. On a positive note they waited till we walked up the lookout and then broke into my car, I don't even want to think about what they "could" of done instead, and I don't even want to think what if I was alone as I do hike solo a lot. Another positive is I don't ever leave valuables (money, cards, phone etc) in my car as I am aware people tend to steal from cars at these locations, and this has happened to be before about 3-4 years ago at Mount Beerburrum Carpark. Glass House Mountains is known of it. It has happened to many people I know over the years and the fact is you can't carry everything with you up a Mountain, sadly I got over $7000 worth of stuff stolen yesterday, not those little valuables I always carry with me but the big things I never thought would be looked at, a big camper fridge with a full days worth of healthy food/drinks for three people and change of clothes and other items that I didn't think was valuable. On a funny note, maybe I inspired this bad people to eat healthier and drink coconut water :-) and wear my beautiful MAB adventure Wear. So yep, fact is shit does happen, and yep it sucks though it is just stuff, material belongings, I didn't let it wreck my day, I continued on with my climbing yesterday and I continued to smile because life is beautiful. Though what now? Do I and you live in fear of cars being broken into or fear of being unsafe? No no no.... I am speaking up, what if council put in webcams at these locations to avoid these bad people from doing this again and again and again... Enough is enough. I love the Sunshine Coast and I love the mountains and I want to keep encouraging people to get outdoors and feel safe, Saturday I felt violated, angry and frustrated and I don't want anyone else to feel this.
My tips are
-don't ever leave valuables in your car
-always trust your gut feeling, it's ok to change your plan
-always let someone know where you are going if you are going adventuring solo
I ask you my friends to share this petition, to get the message to the local council to please get webcams up asap at the Glass House Mountain Carparks, only positive can come from it. It is positive investment into the Sunshine Coast, it will only encourage locals & visitors to feel safer and more confident to get outdoors. I do understand that it doesn't matter where you are in the world, these things happen, though I am tired of these things happening here and I trust yesterday happened so I can be a voice to create change in a positive way.
Thank you if you did read all of this petition and thank you for only choosing to see the positives in this by moving forward with action, I have let go of my negative thoughts and trust in that everything happens for a reason.
Live big, love big, dream big and do lots of Starjumps because life is totally worth celebrating
