City of Prince George, please honour your agreement to remove the gate on the Domano FSR

The Issue

The City of Prince George made an agreement with the Ministry of Forests in 1991 to have the gate at the entrance of the Domano FSR removed by the end of 1992.  City Council, the Director of Silviculture - MOF, and the Prince George Regional Manager at that time, all agreed that because the road was constructed with public funds that the public had a right to access the public lands past the gate.  It was agreed, therefore, that the gate would be removed by the end of 1992.  27 years later, the gate still remains.  We, the community of College Heights, would like the City of Prince George to remove this gate and to restore the rights of the Prince George citizens to access public lands via public roadways.
