Wynnewood Pecans is in full support of the State Street Food Co-Op. Many Chicago neighborhoods, unfortunately suffer from the “food desert” epidemic, a condition that renders the community with a lack of supply and access to fresh, healthy, quality food. Many of the “food deserts” are in the Black and Brown areas of Chicago; which also battle circumstances of poverty, unemployment, and crime. The State Street Food Co-Op provides a new beginning- a solution to some of these problematic issues. As the only Black-owned pecan company in the world, Wynnewood Pecan wants be part of this monumental project, a big part of Chicago history. Thank you, for supplying a platform for black vendors of all kinds. We would like to provide SSF with Wynnewood Pecans and all other nut products and varieties.
