Thank you for  signing and supporting this petition, we met the 1,000 mark in the mission of sustaining and increasing Black Businesses.

With that mission, COME and meet some of the 1,000 supporters that sign this petition in support of a Black owned grocery store for the Douglas community of Chicago targeting Dearborn Homes and South Commons residents.

As we make the 100th Anniversary Black Wall Street of Tulsa, Ok, we of Black Wall Street Chicago are more poised than ever to work tirelessly to champion this business mission targeting residents of Dearborn Home. We are encouraged more with the Illinois House of Representatives passing the Black Wall Street Program Act for the purpose of establishing Black Wall Street Business Districts, a special fund in the State treasury for specified purposes as what we are embarking on.

For your update we are in the process of meeting with The City of Chicago Department of Planning on the four (4) possible sites directly across of Dearborn Homes (27th to 30th and State Street. The idea targeted land possibility is owned by IIT of 28th to 30th on State Street. This area once known as the Black Wall Street of Chicago as early as 1919 (monument on 35th and State Street).

This will be the difference with residents’ having equity in this project – Saturday May 29 we are to charge our interest and stipulate our essential vision: We would like for you to be with us.

Please share with others wherever you and they may be North, West and South of Chicago to South Africa. We can see it coming alive more with your support and your active roll. See you May 29 out doors. Still wear your mask.
