Historic Preservation & Clean-up

Aloha! Thank you to all who have shared and signed so far, and for the amazing feedback on this DIY Skatepark. Thanks especially to Council Woman Sue Lee Loy, for her willingness to hear us out, and for her support on this project! We are currently waiting for the State Historic Preservation Division of DLNR to determine whether this place is valuable historic land. If they conclude that this area is not historic land, we may proceed to work with the Parks and Rec Department to create a safe, and enjoyable Skatepark. We hope to continue building new additions soon. Attached is a picture of the original concrete slab before any changes were made (it is the view from behind where the rainbow ramp now exists). It was barely visible under piles of natural debris and litter. If you zoom in you can see some of the litter that covered the slab, as it was, and still is a common place for people to dump their trash. We have cleaned up most of the trash that was discarded at this DIY Skatepark, but we need your help to completely clear the area! There will be a clean-up on Sunday July 23, 2017 in Kings Landing, from 10-12pm. This will be a potluck event, so bring food if you wish.
