The Divest LA team did a citizen's Lobby Day event at LA City Hall today and it was an incredible success! The Divest LA coalition met with city council offices including the office of Mayor Eric Garcetti to discuss Los Angeles’ divestment from Wells Fargo. We also took the opportunity to drop off copies of our 1,200-page Change.org petition with over 38,500 signatures and counting! The Divest LA movement has gained momentum nationwide! Thank you all for the amazing support! With 38K strong supporting our efforts to #DivestLA- it’s time for Los Angeles City Council to do the right thing, end the city’s financial ties with Wells Fargo, and move our public funds into an ethical banking institution.
