The Town Of Whitby announced a new proposal today that will shutter Butchie’s and a lot of small businesses if approved.
This proposal is a new rapid bus route along HWY 2 (Dundas). This proposed metrolink project will have a raised median for a large part of the route blocking access to our restaurant and other businesses from westbound traffic, forcing traffic down quiet residential streets, making dangerous u turns and forcing traffic down family lined quiet streets.  This isn’t ok. There is NO NEED for it.

Restricting traffic, will restrict business. 
This will solidify our demise, and so many more.

We are tired of fighting for what’s right and just. We are exhausted financially and emotionally. We need leadership in Whitby that is progressive and appreciates the impactful value small business brings to a community.
We can’t fight this alone.
