Former Mississauga Mayor Crombie lost in her own riding thanks in part to us!
She said publicly 3 times that she would replace Mississauga's one and only outdoor refrigerated hockey rink protected with a roof. Well, it's been almost 5 years so where is it Mississauga??!!

I am a resident and I see here that former Mayor Crombie publicly promised 3 times we would get our roofed rink back:

I am upset the City destroyed the first refrigerated roofed hockey/skating rink in the GTA without consulting me or other residents after watching this Story of Chic Murray Outdoor Roofed Rink:
And I am displeased with your offer to build yet another smaller skating oval that we did not want. All you left us with is Woodhurst Heights sitting on a small tennis court with no boards. One low standard rink for 750,000 of us is poor planning especially after losing the best rink in the GTA.
Most years, we only get 2-3 weeks of usage at the 35 volunteer natural rinks because of global warming and ponds/rivers are dangerous recreational options as you can see here:
The City spends millions of dollars annually on baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and cricket pitches.
Southern Ontario is the hockey factory of the Earth and you destroyed the best rink we have leaving us a poor option.
The City is misguided believing New Canadians will not like hockey. That is so untrue. We all just need a FREE space to be introduced to it and, with global warming, need a ROOFED RINK to future proof our great Canadian tradition.
While the election is next year, I trust you will VOTE TO BUILD US A LARGE ROOFED RINK with heated change rooms, zamboni, clock, boards/benches, glass and netting like before.
We only have 1 hockey rink (no boards) for every 750,000 people (Woodhurst Heights) and far behind Brampton (1:105K), Toronto (1:60K), and Oakville (1:225K).
It is important to me that this facility is built before Election 2026 so we can enjoy skating/hockey OUTSIDE FOR FREE in Mississauga again from November to March.
Also, I want the programming to have skating, all ages stick and puck, and hockey available for FREE, all day, every day, like Celebration Square.
