We, the undersigned, residents of the City Of Winnipeg ask the mayor and council to change the name of Disraeli freeway to Olympian freeway.
We believe the name Olympian freeway would honor a number of Olympic greats who still call Winnipeg their home, notably Cindy klassen and Clara Hughes. These champions have inspired youth all over world, through their heroic efforts and are role models for our children.
Further, we believe these local Olympians should be honored alongside this freeway with a statue or plaque depicting their outstanding contributions to our great city.
