Support extention of the NYC ferry - Astoria branch to Upper East Side

The Issue

The Old Astoria Neighborhood Association is advocating for establishing direct service on the Astoria or Soundview Ferry Line between Hallets Cove, Astoria to the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

Each Landing currently exists, so there are no additional capital infrastructure costs.

We feel that this extension of the route to the Upper East Side would create a positive economic, cultural, and quality of life effect to both areas. Each waterfront is 1515 ft and about 5 minutes of transit time one-way from each other. Please read our statement.

We call upon the NYC Economic Development Corp to institute this extension of the ferry between Astoria and the Upper East Side of Manhattan. as soon as possible.
