Thank you so much for all your support of our efforts to keep our children safe in school.  You have joined us in standing with School Safety Agents who protect our children in school.

Mayor Adams and Chancellor Banks understand that no child can learn in an unsafe environment.  Under Mayor Adams' administration, we have had three classes of School Safety Agents.  The fourth class begins tomorrow.

Earlier today, Chancellor Banks and Police Commissioner held a graduation ceremony for our new School Safety Agents.  Mayor Adams is putting in the resources and funding to protect our children.

But, we still need your support.  The legislature passed a bill that Governor Hochul has not signed yet mandating small class sizes for NYC schools -- when our schools already have them.  This will cost the city $500 million annually.  The city does not have that money.

This bill will force Mayor Adams and Chancellor Banks to take money from programs parents want and from the School Safety budget to hire 13,400 new teachers.  Our schools are under-enrolled.  We do not need more teachers.
