Good afternoon,
Thank you again for all your support.
The fight is not over. Please join us with mothers and concerned citizens tomorrow, October 10th, 2:00PM, at City Hall Park (the Broadway side) for our School and Public Safety Rally.
Our communities and our schools are under siege from gun violence, stabbings, slashings, and assaults.
Yesterday, October 8th, around 4:50PM, a Black male ran into IS 271 in Brooklyn, trying to escape the police. He was caught in the auditorium by police officers. The suspect had a firearm on him. The school building was full of students attending after-school programs.
In the last two weeks weapons seized directly outside NYC schools include a rifle, and just this past week there was a near fatal stabbing inside a high school.
There are at least 21 teenagers who have been killed by guns this year. Our streets have become the Wild, Wild West with gun battles between different gangs. In the streets and in schools, violence has surged because of gang retaliations.
Why can’t Bronx residents walk the streets of their borough without fear?
Why are gangs patrolling Brooklyn streets and shooting innocents?
Why can’t our children go to city parks safely?
The politicians are doing nothing.
That’s why mothers of gun violence victims, concerned citizens, and New Yorkers, are having our rally this Sunday, October 10, 2:00PM, at City Hall Park.
We hope to see you tomorrow and stand united to Protect Our Children.
