Good morning,
Today we are having a Public Safety and School Safety Press Conference and Rally at Brooklyn Borough Hall at 2:00PM.
Another child is dead, shot at 9:30pm last night. There was more gun violence yesterday throughout the five boroughs including a 12 year old and 17 year old also being shot. Fortunately, they survived, but the 10 year old is dead.
The city is in crisis and that's why today parents, grandparents, and NYers from different racial and immigrant backgrounds are standing together today at Brooklyn Borough Hall.
What happens in the streets ALWAYS spills over into the schools.
Our communities are under siege with rampant gun violence, children being shot and killed, anti-Asian hate crimes, assaults, and outright lawlessness. We want more NYPD funding to keep our families safe in our communities and more civilian School Safety Agents to keep our children safe in school.
We are sick and tired of the lies peddled by individuals and special interests groups who do not represent us and do not speak for us, the many mothers who have lost their children to gun violence, and New Yorkers who are victims of assault and other crimes.
We demand more NYPD officers in our communities to protect us and more civilian School Safety Agents in our schools to protect our children.
When: Sunday, June 6, 2:00PM
Where: The steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall on Court Street by Columbus Park
