School Safety Matters
Parents and Community Leaders To Stand With School Safety Agents At Rally On Sunday, April 11 at 2:00pm
We will not allow politicians to jeopardize the safety of our children.
Who: Parents, Grandparents, Community Leaders, Elected Officials, and School Safety Agents rally to protect our children in school.
When: Sunday, April 11
2:00pm
Where: City Hall Park by the Broadway Sidewalk
Background:
We are sick and tired of politicians using our children to score political points when seeking higher office. The recent attacks on School Safety Agents, who are mostly Black, Hispanic, and Asian women who keep our children safe while in school, will not be tolerated. Stating that School Safety Agents are responsible for racist policing in our schools and also responsible for the school-to-prison pipeline is a despicable lie.
These attacks smearing and maligning the majority Black, Hispanic, and Asian women workforce is reprehensible. Instead of addressing the real cause of the school-to-prison pipeline, which is the failure of the Department of Education to properly educate our children, some politicians think their path to higher office is through destroying the livelihoods of women of color during a pandemic. We stand united with our School Safety Agents.
