Oppose $500,000 City Manager Contract

On Tuesday, October 17th, the Santa Ana City Council is scheduled to vote on a contract for the new city manager (item 25H). The contract salary and benefits exceed $500,000/year and provides an 18 month paid severance package. While the selected individual is a nice man, he is not qualified for this critical position. He is currently the Public Works Director for the City of Lynwood. He was a city manager for two years in El Monte (about 1/3 the population of Santa Ana) but was fired from that position. We need to oppose this contract.
