Dear supporters,

When I wrote this petition, I was pregnant with my baby. Now, she's here and she's joining our campaign for our rights! ❤️

It was the realisation that I was the only pregnant woman working at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) who wouldn’t be able to spend the first few months of the life with her baby that compelled me to go on strike and fight for my and my baby’s rights.

My colleagues at GOSH, who are directly employed by the NHS, have six months of fully paid maternity cover, way more than me. This is simply because I’m outsourced and my contract doesn’t grant me the same maternity rights. Why shouldn’t my baby and I be able to enjoy our first few months together like all the other GOSH mums do, without worrying about money, about paying the rent?

So, we are going to continue to fight for our just cause, which is everybody’s cause: maternity cover, full sick pay, a decent pension... ✊

In the spirit of defiant celebration, I want to share with you a beautiful song about our strike. It is our new anthem!

It’s been written for us by a retired GP and musician who, like many others in the NHS, wants GOSH to do the right thing and bring us in-house.

Have a listen here in Soundcloud

Please share it. Let's make it go viral! ✨✨

Let’s all sing and dance for equality and an end to race discrimination in the NHS!

Let’s make GOSH bosses listen to us!

With much love and solidarity, ❤️
