Dear supporters,
My colleague Jahirul, a security guard at Great Ormond Street Hospital, has lost his work there after our epic six-week strike for equality. He is being victimised for fighting for our rights!
Although on a “zero-hours” contract, Jahirul has worked there regularly for several years without fault but when he reported back to work, he was informed that there were no hours available to him.
He has young kids and he’s the sole breadwinner at home. He does not know where his next pay cheque is going to be coming from, or how he’s going to make ends meet while food and energy prices keep going up.
My colleagues and I believe that this is a direct consequence of having taken part in a lawful strike. He is suffering for having dared to stand up for our equality, dignity and respect.
So I’m asking you to support Jahirul and his family in two ways:
You can donate to his hardship fund to keep him and his family afloat until this is resolved>>
You can keep sharing this petition so that more and more people ask GOSH bosses to listen to us.
Let’s help Jahirul. This injustice must end!
Thank you again for all your support. Together we will win!
In solidarity,
Erica
