Insight’s mission is to support those who have been detained by the NHS under the Mental Health Act. Commonly known as ‘sectioning’.

Our aim is to provide clear advice and guidance to those directly detained and to their families.

We share insights from current, previously detained patients and their families (with their consent).

Our shareholders are ‘experts by experience’ either as former patients, their close family members or from those with suitable experience and those aligned with our views on detention.

We are fully independent and ‘not for profit’.

I hope that my own experience will help others (many without any mental illness) to avoid the devastating impact of a misdiagnosis & detention from having their human rights removed.

There are many potential victims as every year over 50,000 people are sectioned by NHS England Trusts.

Misdiagnosis in early diagnosis of Psychosis, Bipolar & Schizophrenia is over 40%.
