The Boston Globe wrote an editorial this Sunday strongly advocating for H1973's passage. According to the Globe editorial staff: “By allowing optometrists to treat glaucoma in their offices, patients would be able to receive immediate care,” rather than having to “make an appointment with an ophthalmologist, which usually results in the same course of treatment – after a long wait, duplicate testing, additional copays, and out-of-pocket expenses.” The editorial concluded by calling for the bill's passage by the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
