The elephants in Bali tourist industry truly are suffering & have no organisations or sanctuaries there to help them.
Short version...On my first visit to Bali a few years ago, I first visited 2 elephant parks on cruise tour. They were promoted as "sanctiaries". At the time, I knew nothing about the cruelty in elephant tourism. But while at the parks, I realised something was not right. This is what lead me to research truth when came home and started my journey into advocacy for these beautiful animals.
While there are many organisations advocating for captive elephants being exploited & abused in many Asian countries , I found that there was no-one advocating & specifically targetting help for the elephants in Bali.
I was actually told by a animal welfare group not to even bother targetting Mason Elephant Park Bali. It would be pointless. The govt supports them, they receive many awards & certificates , they have many celebrities who visit & promote them. Suppose they are considered 'untouchable'.
This made me even MORE determined. This is exactly WHY they need to be targeted!!!
Have had alot going on, a few setbacks esp with my health. It has slowed me down abit... But I have not forgotten or given up on these elephants. And I will continue to fight for them. And once I'm back 100%, I will fight for them even harder.

How Mason Elephant Park Bali is promoted as A genuine elephant sanctuary is beyond us. Instead of being called out on obvious animal abuse, they receive support from the Indonesian Government , awards for animal welfare, celebrity visitors & have many thousands of supporters ... They have remained 'untouchable' because of the amount of money they bring into Bali & the celebrities who visit their venue.
Well.. We think it's about time the world wakes up to the truth about this horrible place.
