Kerbey Lane Cafe please switch your traditional mayonnaise for "Just Mayo".
The Issue
Kerbey Lane Cafe is already a favorite among Austinites, not just for their great food, but for their morally upstanding business practices.
The following excerpt is taken directly from their website.
>>We Provide Safe and Responsible Food
The unique experience we offer our guests is a reflection of the inputs we use to create that experience. The consumption of food is a very personal undertaking. By choosing to dine with us, our guests are entrusting us to provide a product that is safe to consume and that will not do harm to their bodies. We take this responsibility extremely seriously. To us, food safety goes beyond providing a product that is free from contamination. Food safety also means the responsible provision of healthful, natural foods in reasonable portion sizes whenever possible. It means offering meaningful menu options that are not unreasonably high in sugar, fat or salt. It means offering food we can be proud of, knowing the thought and consideration that went into it. As champions for our guests, we source the very best ingredients of the highest possible quality.<<
In keeping with that sentiment, we respectfully ask you to consider making one small change that can make a large impact on our environment, the health of of your guest and the satisfaction of your loyal vegan regulars. All that is required of you is to simply replace whatever brand of traditional, egg based mayonnaise with Hampton Creek's “Just Mayo”.
By simply swapping out that one product you will be helping to reduce water consumption, C02 emission and land use. You will be helping your customers reduce their intake of saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium. You will also be showing the vegan community respect and adding the one missing ingredient to your delicious vegan Hippy Burgers.
I understand that the vegan opinion is a minority and it is natural to fear the repercussions of making a change that might not go over well with the omnivorous customers. Fret not though, this path has been carved by many before you including numerous universities, agencies, and corporations including 7-11 who have made the switch to EXCLUSIVELY offer “Just Mayo” in place of traditional egg based mayonnaise.
Can your community count on you to make a big impact with this small change?
Sincerely,
Sean Philips as well as each of the following petition signers, the local community and the environment
