Supporters of shifting the burden of proof to schools in special education due process complaints: Legislators make decisions based on hearing from large numbers of their constituents. We have significant opposition from powerful lobbyists in Annapolis. If your legislators have not heard from you, the lobbyists are the only ones who have their ear. In order to get the burden of proof bill out of the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs committee this year, we need only one more Senator to co-sponsor the bill. We need all of you in Districts 3, 6, 17, 21, and 43 to send an email, fax or call your Senator to urge them to co-sponsor. We only have until Wednesday, February 4th before the bill is finalized. Tell them why this is important to you.
