This just in! Chadwick Boseman's brother, Derrick Boseman, has told TMZ that he believed his brother, Chadwick, would want to see the role of T'Challa continue in the MCU despite his passing. Derrick says that there's so much power in seeing a Black king - especially in a superhero capacity. The main focus here is on the youth (especially African American youth). Derrick believes that IF Marvel were to prematurely kill off T'Challa in the wake of Chadwick's death, then they would be depriving children of a positive role model.

I would like to remind everyone that this is the first public record of anyone in the Boseman family issuing support for the #RecastTChalla movement. Hopefully this sends a message to Marvel that of all the many stories they can tell in the sequel, the one thing they can avoid is unnecessarily killing T'Challa's character off. They can pay tribute to the actor in many different ways, but killing T'Challa for the 3rd time is uncalled for. There's no reason to force the real life trauma of Chadwick's passing into the fictional storytelling of the MCU.

I hope this news gives you a sense of encouragement that our voices will continue to be heard on this matter. Marvel Studios will hear us and hopefully understand that we all share the same goal in wishing to honor Chadwick Boseman's work and memory. Please help us reach our goal of 45K signatures by sharing this petition.
