Do not kill off Peter Parker

Do not kill off Peter Parker
The Issue
For 50 great years, Peter Parker has been Spider-man. He has taken up the responsibility and power for so long - but now, Marvel are going to kill off the idea of Peter Parker as Spider-man. We want to make sure that if this happens - it is not long term. Simply running out of ideas does not give you the right to kill off such a loved character which has given many the reason to stride on.
Ask several people to name a super hero - they'll probably come up with Spider-man. He has been Marvel's poster character for 50 years and he has brought people together. He has been a role model for children and adults through all the thick and thin, and now, he's being replaced. To make it worse, it seems the character all the children look up to, is pictured in the cover to SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #2, forcing Mary Jane to kiss him. We have children looking up to this character. This is simply unacceptable.
Dan Slott has said that he wants to make a 'darker' Spider-man - but we already have Venom and Scarlet Spider, which are this. Why do we need to kill Peter off to make a third ongoing title? It doesn't make any sense. We don't need it. It's time to face facts, Marvel. If a writer cannot think of more storylines for a character - that does not give them an excuse to destroy a 50 year old character.
Marvel, it's time you learnt ; NO PETER = NO READER.
