It's official.
Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi (1/2 of Atlanta group Outkast) are officially confirmed perform for the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show. In addition, Travis Scott will donate $500,000 to a non-profit called Dream Corps, started by CNN's Van Jones, which will combat social justice issues (and an effort to combat the strong criticism he's received).
Here's Scott's statement:
"I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."
You may see this as a "defeat", but I don't. Not at all!
I'll add an update later this week to explain further, but for now I wanted you to be informed of this news.
