No to the Health & Care Professions Council 18% fee rise

The Issue

The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) is currently proposing to increase the registration fee by 18%. We believe this fee rise is unjust, will cause increased financial hardship to already struggling hard working professionals and is opposed by the majority of HCPC registrants, including those who are members of Unite the union.

If this increase is implemented, it will mean that since 2014, HCPC fees will have increased by 40%, whilst pay has stagnated and costs of living have increased.

We call on the HCPC to seriously reconsider.

(NB. The HCPC currently regulates over 366,000 health care professionals, across 16 profession in the UK and they are required to pay this fee before they can practice)
