As you all know I started this petition to raise awareness of the many faults of this particular area. If you read my petition I highlighted the crossing issue or lack of it, the dilapidated area, broken fences, general safety for all that reside, and visit Spearwood right down to the families that tragically lost their lives here.
I am honored to be closing this page down once and for all. We have finally achieved all of the things we set out to do. The door knocking, signatures collected, making the newspaper, parliament twice, copious amounts of meetings, and finally, here we are.
All four points of access on both sides of the road now have a safe maze picket crossing. The road has been resurfaced, a new fence installed and a memorial instated for the families.
I would like to thank everyone who supported me by signing my petition and donating money to change. Your contribution has made a massive difference and for that, I am forever grateful.
To the three amazing people, Simone for encouraging me to do this and empowering me as a woman, you are really so special. Len and John, without you I wouldn't have had the strength to go on. Your unrelenting support and encouragement. Your words of wisdom and patience. You stuck by me through the tears, tantrums, laughter, and passion (the 3 musketeers). Ultimately because of your support we have succeeded.
Never stop justice, it does pay off
