Hello all - 8 months since the last update and unfortunately still no good news about evenings and Sundays.
However I do have some good news on something I have been campaigning for... National Express WM are finally extending the X51 Birmingham service to Cannock throughout weekdays every 20 minutes (rather than just peak times) and 30 minutes on Saturdays. If successful, there is a good chance they will run Sundays too (fingers crossed!).
The new service starts this Monday 29th from Cannock FAST to Birmingham via Great Wyrley, Bloxwich, Walsall and Great Barr. A slight route change means Cheslyn Hay won't be served but the rest of the route remains unchanged. This is also good news for Aston University students who can alight outside the main building off James Watt Queensway, any commuters working in Brum with early journeys from 6am. Timetables available online or in travel shops at Walsall and Corporation Street. Lets make this successful and encourage NX to introduce Sunday journeys!
On a side note, those who still wish to use Arriva 1, 2, 2E will see some ticket prices drop (albeit still 50p more than NX per day saver). This shows the importance of competition in a privatised market.
All the best, Lee.
