Greetings Incredible Supporters,

First and foremost, Thank You! Your unwavering commitment to this cause has brought us closer to real change. Because of your signatures, letters, and vocal advocacy, Maritime Bus has recognized the overwhelming need for transportation in Monastery. Though their decision to add a stop was unfavorable at this time, they have committed to reassessing our request in the near future. We are NOT giving up!

The decision was based solely on route timing issues, not feasibility or demand. In fact, through trial runs, discussions with municipal and provincial leaders, and the voices of our dedicated community, we proved beyond doubt that this service would be sustainable and financially beneficial. Maritime Bus initially worried that ridership wouldn't be substantial, but we shattered that misconception with overwhelming support.

Now, more than ever, we need to keep up the momentum. If a service stop along the Halifax-Sydney route is discontinued, Monastery will be next in line for consideration—but we don’t need to wait for that opportunity. Let's continue to spread the word, share the petition, and gain even more signatures. A louder voice means stronger leverage, and we may need to push this initiative to another platform, including provincial and federal leaders.

The Antigonish-Guysborough Corridor, home to five historic African Nova Scotian communities and all neighboring communities within the corridor as far as Canso, deserves fair and equitable transportation access. This is about fairness and opportunity, and together, we can make a difference.

So I urge you—keep fighting. Keep signing. Keep sharing. Let’s show Maritime Bus, government officials, and community leaders that we refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer!

Thank you for your support, your passion, and your belief in this movement.

In Solidarity,
Sonja Crawford
