I have been overwhelmed with the support I have received through this Change petition, supporting my release. Thank you! You have all played an important role in getting me out of jail.

During my 15 month incarceration, I spent many hours dwelling not just on my legal situation, but on the families who spend their lives scavenging on and living alongside, Phnom Penh's infamous rubbish dump at Choeung Ek, close to the Killing Fields.

The little support that I had been able to offer these beautiful families over the years was no longer there. To help me through these terrible times family members encouraged me to follow my passion to help these families. So Family by Family was developed to assist these impoverished Cambodian families.

Every family has different needs but the overriding ones are a safe place to bring up their children near good schools. Many of these families gravitate to the dumps in the cities not just out of poverty but to be close to schools where their kids can get at least some education, without which the poverty cycle cannot be broken.
