For my speech class, I have been researching prison overcrowding and I feel it is a problem that has not been getting the attention it deserves. By signing this petition you can help me by getting the word out about how to solve the problem. Some solutions include:

1) sending fewer people to prison

2)allowing drug offenders to serve shorter sentences

3)give judges greater discretion over sentencing

4) allow more prisoners to reduce their sentences through credit or good behavior

5) give prisoners a full year off their sentences for participating in a drug rehabilitation program
