We refer to your submission to Amendment C172, which relates to proposed new planning controls to protect heritage character in eight precincts in West Footscray and surrounding parts of Footscray and Maidstone. We wrote to you in April 2023 following the release of the Planning Panel’s report on the amendment. 

The Panel’s report on Amendment C172 and Council officers’ response to the Panel’s recommendations will be presented to City Development Delegated Committee (CDDC) on Wednesday 23 May 2023 (VB: this is Tue 23rd).

The CDDC meeting provides an opportunity for community members to address Councillors for up to three minutes per speaker before the CDDC considers an item. If you would like to speak at this meeting in relation to Amendment C172, please complete the Request to Address the Delegated Committee online form. If you would like to attend the meeting, but do not intend on addressing Councillors, then you do not need to pre-register your attendance. 

A copy of the officer report will be available via Council’s website at www.maribyrnong.vic.gov.au/meetings on Friday 19 May 2023. Alternatively, please contact Council on 9688 0200 to obtain a hard copy of the report.

A further report will be presented at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 20 June 2023 for Council to make a decision on Amendment C172 in accordance with Planning and Environment Act 1987. In accordance with Council’s Governance Rules, while you may attend that meeting and ask up to three questions, there is no opportunity to address Councillors at that meeting prior to the decision being made. The 23 May 2023 CDDC Meeting is your opportunity to address Council prior to a decision being made.
