Council has referred the Amendment and all submissions to an independent Planning Panel to review. The Panel is appointed by the Minister for Planning.

The role of the Panel is to give submitters an opportunity to be heard in an informal, non-judicial manner.

The first stage of the panel process is a Directions Hearing where administrative arrangements for the Panel Hearing are made. The Directions Hearing will be held online. We anticipate the directions hearing will be mid-October online.

The second stage is the public hearing, where submitters are provided an opportunity to speak to their submission. We anticipate the public hearing will be held late November (date and venue to be confirmed at the directions hearing).

The hearings are open to the public and all submitters will be invited by Planning Panels Victoria to take part. Afterwards, the Panel will prepare a report advising Council and the Minister for Planning on the amendment.
