Motion Failed

The decision by the Marathon County Board of Supervisors to uphold the suspension of County Administrator Brad Karger is without a doubt a disappointment for us and for many of the concerned citizens who worked so hard to support our initiative to request reinstating Mr. Karger. Despite the outcome, on behalf of the organizers of this movement, we would like to take a moment to thank the thousands of citizens and stakeholders who voiced their support for Mr. Karger by signing the petition, by contacting their elected leaders, and by voicing their concerns. Despite the outcome, our voices will not be silenced, and I assure you, our efforts were not made in vain. To the County Board of Supervisors: your actions speak volumes. You wanted to send a message, and believe me, we heard you loud and clear. However, here is our message: We continue to stand ready to engage in meaningful dialogue with you, with all community members, and with all community leaders to discuss these and many other issues facing our county. We stand ready to continue to engage in the democratic process to elect leaders who represent the diverse perspectives within our communities. Above all else, we stand ready to continue to voice our support for County Administrator Brad Karger. Thank you.
