Make Pregnancy Tests Accessible to all!

The Issue

Visually impaired  women are not able to read pregnancy tests themselves. this means that either a family member, friend, health professional or acquaintance has to be involved. this stops it being private, for example if the VI woman is in a relationship with a VI man, the couple have to introduce a third party to find out what they should be the first to know. VI women who live on their own would have to walk to the chemist/go to the nurse to get a test read. Smart Phone apps which are able to recognise everyday food or household items such as Tap Tap See or Vizwiz are hit and miss as it is difficult to take a picture of such a small screen at the right distance to enable the text to be recognised by the app. the inaccessibility of pregnancy tests takes away one of a visually impaired person's basic human rights. please help this to change! if a test could vibrate once or twice depending on the result, it would give so much more independence to visually impaired mothers and couples. it could also help reading disabled and colour blind. if this was rolled out across the board so that every test was accessible instead of it being a custom made VI product it would keep costs down for VI women and mean that VI women could walk into any shop and buy an accessible test the same as anyone else. or if the companies who make the tests could produce an app which works on their own brands of tests and could be taught to recognise results which could be then read by the phone's speech software such as Apple Voice Over for iPhones,  it could be even easier and cost effective to do. please help us get the rights to manage our own family planning!
