We believe the planned Bike Lane and Greenway for Manor Ave. between Montrose and Lawrence Avenues is a great step to making the street more walkable and bikable, as well as increasing safety. 

In an effort to calm traffic, the plan redirects both north and southbound car traffic onto adjacent streets. This is a perfectly reasonable measure that has been studied by CDOT, along with competing proposals, and has been deemed the most effective by them. We ask that the steering committee, Alderman Mell, and CDOT retain this configuration. We believe that this measure is both adequate and necessary. 

A test is currently being run to determine the effects of the traffic diverter on the neighborhood and CDOT will provide details in a follow up meeting. I will update you on that meeting when it is scheduled.
