I would love to say no but unfortunately I can not. After the tragedy of last month I think everything possible should be done to protect our children while they are in school. Our education system leaves a lot to be desired as it is, our children should be safe when they are in school and it is our responsibility as a country to keep them safe. Now! Before the next crime school is a shooting or another murder. It's a no brainer. I doubt there has been one shooting or stabbing in a school with a metal detector. In a society where we have more guns and knives than people, and where violence is glorified, we have no other choice. Why do we protect airline passengers and not our students & staff? Why do we protect people who attend a concert or a football game, and not our students & staff? Why can't we all pitch in a few bucks and stop this madness in our schools? Come on. If we quit pointing fingers and spewing insults at each other, we could spend some time raising money for the detectors.
