The discrimination against disability babies and lack of value of human life – in our wealthy developed nations – those with disabilities are disposed of easily before birth now – there is little justice or value of them as they grow up from children to adults in the same ‘developed’ societies – there is need to protect them and fight for their rights…and not let this lack of justice for our disability children continue and not allow them to be harmed or lost so easily even as they grow up.
The amendments made recently during the pandemic, to the New Zealand abortion laws making it the most extreme in the world – allows mothers to abort a baby that has a disability – up to full term if have doctors’ permission, up to 20 weeks with no permission needed.
These abortions can be carried out by midwives, and nurses also.
This is beyond belief. The new laws also allow mothers to abort their baby if they do not like the sex of the baby they are having. This is Nazi, eugenics thinking – we must only have perfect babies. But what is perfect since all humans have defects of some kind. As for aborting according to gender that’s a most narcissistic epitome of selfishness I have ever seen. What has happened to New Zealand where are their morals, where is their care for human beings, even children? If a child dies after 1 year old being born, even before that you can go to prison for murder. Noted in the medical legislation from NZ 2020 “Live birth after an intended abortion From 22 weeks of pregnancy, feticide (an injection to stop the fetal heart) takes place prior to the abortion. It is very unlikely that a live birth occurs after an intended abortion. In the event of a live birth it is no longer considered an abortion and there is a requirement to provide appropriate care in the same way as for any other baby. This is a complex matter and what care is appropriate in the circumstances will depend on the clinical assessment of the baby. Appropriate care will be determined by the health practitioner in accordance with relevant standards and best practice guidance, and in consultation with the parent(s) and whanau”
This was legislation bad enough before but has changed to this:
“There will be no requirement that a doctor must be involved with providing an abortion
• There will be no legal requirement that babies born alive after a ‘failed’ abortion are given medical support
• There will be no legal requirement that pain relief be given to babies being aborted between 20 weeks and birth (Right to Life UK news 2020)”
Oh New Zealand how you have fallen! Things are out of control – how could they do this?
Apparently, Jacinta Arden was able to push this bill’s amendments through parliament while they were distracted by the pandemic. Very quickly, normally you have three readings and then a vote after the second reading as parliament discusses the bill. Yet apparently the third reading was rushed through and voted on in one day. Clever and sneaky. Did she want to look good for the voters, or was it about economics – cheaper not to have disability children around?
How crass and how coldhearted and actually evil to kill babies for the gender or having a disability. Cruel to do it once past 20 weeks or nearly born a human being. Where is the humanity in this??? So the prime minister of New Zealand is not such a saint at all.
Speaking of which where are the Christians in all this? Where are those standing up for babies that should not be aborted for such frivolous reasons or for having a disability? I understand sometimes abortion may be needed for medical reasons or to save a mother. However, to do it to a baby for having a disability which is specified by Ministry of Health NZ , as cleft palate, or club foot, or Down syndrome! Where does it end? Will they abort babies with autism, adhd, blindness, heart defects, or hyperactivity next? This is immoral and wrong and is a slippery slope for random killing of unborn children.
People need to stand up and fight for these children who cannot speak or fight for themselves indeed have not even be born, babies who can now in New Zealand be aborted right up to birth. This is despite the fact that the New Zealand public did not agree with the changes – it was still done speedily while covid raged in Nz and around the world. Family first (July 2020) noted “… just 2% of Kiwi women support abortion on-demand up to birth. 93% oppose sex-selective abortion, in which a child is killed for no other reason than his or her sex. And, 94% of women polled support longstanding legal standards for New Zealand’s abortion providers. In other words, they didn’t want them relaxed at all.”
What society have we become when we allow those most tender and vulnerable to be killed because we prefer a boy to a girl or girl to a boy or we wish them not to have a disability. You think you are perfect too? Apparently, Victoria, Australia, has one of the most extreme abortion laws in the world too.
How did Jacinta do this? Uk news notes “Given the extremely low public support for the change and that the gap between MPs opposing and supporting was quickly closing, Jacinda Ardern’s Government rushed the final stages of the Bill’s progress through Parliament while MPs, media and the country were distracted with dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic. This included progressing the final sitting of the committee stage and the Bill’s third and final reading through Parliament on the same day.
The Bill has also seen a very large backlash from the disability community with over 1,200 people with Down syndrome and their families calling on the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, to keep a pre-election promise to not introduce abortion up to birth for Down syndrome.”
It was also noted the public had no chance to have a final say on this moral life/death matter regarding babies
“An amendment hoping to put the issue to a public referendum failed in a conscience vote by 100 votes to 19 votes, denying the public a final say on the legislation.
Additionally, the Abortion Legislation Committee only heard from 139 people who wanted to give oral feedback on the Bill, despite over 25,000 submissions.”
Further to the article it noted “New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, was among 80 MPs responsible for defeating an attempt to require healthcare professionals to give medical help to babies born alive after ‘failed’ abortions.
An attempt to protect babies from sex-selective abortion was defeated with 50 votes in favour and 70 against, despite strong concerns over the practice being highlighted in a submission to the Abortion Legislation Committee from Stop Gendercide – a campaign group had urged MPs to support the amendment.”
What can I say – the blood of innocents is on the hands of the government of New Zealand and its leader. The Prime minister is someone who has had a baby herself – how could she be so hard and cold? Or is it a matter of economy? This needs to be changed this harsh and anti-baby legislation. How can we kill off human beings for having a disability or not being the gender we want? Those who support such things need to realize that disposing of humans due to their weakness or lack of economic value, could be an ideology used against them one day too, since actually no person is perfect physically or mentally and everyone gets old - why let people be disposed of so that corporations rule supreme with our greedy governments? You are letting the next generation become a nation of young savvy AI obsessed people who will never care or have empathy for others, and in doing so is self-destruction for the human race by valuing money yet not valuing people and lacking any true, caring, human relationships – they will be lost. sign my petition to bring greater protections for our disability children's futures change.org/disabilitycameras
all the best
