The Lack of Decent politicians in Australia – we must push them to help our vulnerable disability children and make proper laws to protect those who cannot protect themselves…
It is notable that due to the lobbying of the group “Cameras in Special Needs Classes in every school” Kathleen Cannino’s group of parents and educators in Louisiana in America they have a Senator (Senator Foil) who has now pushed through a Bill through the senate for Louisiana to have cameras in special needs classrooms there to protect the children from harm – such as being put in rooms, sat on, tied up even dying through injury in special needs classrooms in America. The police doing little because each school has their own policeman who has half his salary paid by the school. Why would they care if a disability child gets hurt? They don’t in USA and they don’t here.
Police have an obligation to investigate assaults yet they do not take it up, they are so well paid and comfortable they don’t need to do anything for anyone least of all a disability person.
I talked to Kathleen and said how did you get the support of politicians there?
Kathleen gave me a few tips. She said talk to those MPs with disability children. However, I think the politicians in Australia are too busy raping and pillaging in parliament that they do little for the people of Australia. I have even gone to MPs with a disability themselves and they never answer they ignore the questions or requests. Perhaps they earn too much money and don’t care about their voters? That is pathetic.
Our Australian politicians are continually in trouble with rape charges and accusations one wonders whether they actually do any work at parliament as one MP while in a parliament sitting was even texting the person who now accuses him of rape. What fools our politicians seem to be. Our Attorney General for the whole of Australia is accused of rape himself, now stepping down. Politicians seem to be of low grade calibre with no moral character in Australia. Too much of the good life. How despicable.
When my son was first injured a year and a half ago I asked the MP in my area to do something about cameras. She wrote to the NSW Minister for disabilities, Gareth Ward, and he sent the request to the NDIS. Why couldn’t he the Minister of Disabilities do something I thought to myself? I read up about him Gareth Ward, when we planned a protest last year and found he was in the news for wandering naked in his neighbourhood, it was blamed on an operation and under anaesthetic influence. It seemed very strange. Gladys Berejiklian our Premier did nothing about her MPs unremarkable and bizarre behaviour leaving him still as MP for NSW disabilities. Gladys appears to care little about the disabilities vulnerable children and people in her State. Ward now has recently had charges of rape brought up against him from 2013 and has only just stepped down. Gladys never sacked him.
Where are the morals or accountability by politicians in Australia? They are so busy with their carousing that they do not care about the public who pay their salaries and high lifestyles – taxpayers money. They don’t care whether the Australian people live or die or lose their jobs due to the pandemic. They should be ashamed. Suicide of our youth and children rising higher and higher now so badly did the politicians look after the Australian people. Their spin doctors of fear making people do what they want to manipulate out of our population.
Parents need to fight and not be afraid of the consequences by speaking up for what is our right – the protection of our children and adult children from harm! We cannot let it happen to anyone not our child or any other vulnerable one.
If parents start together to push we will get somewhere here in Australia we must not be passive. This will damage us by not being able to protect our children from harm. We have to take action as parents. To sit in despair will not change things.
We must become activists and freedom fighters for our children – freedom from fear of the bully Corporate organizations who we pay with our children’s funding to run programs and respite or accommodation – freedom for our children from harm. Freedom from abuse. We need violence prevention laws in disabilities that is why we must go to our Attorney Generals to change the laws in each state and make them stronger in protecting those with disabilities and insisting on mandatory cameras in each place of care. While we are here for our children we need to do this as one day we will not be able to protect them but the laws will stand forever.

The function of the Attorney General office in South Australia has different values to those in New South Wales much more protective - notably “The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) promotes justice by protecting the rights of all South Australians, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety, and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system.” (SA Gov.au 2021) They are there to hold people to account and protect the rights of their constituents in their state. Vicki Chapman is responsible for Justice Reform among other functions in her state - we need reforms of justice for those vulnerable in disabilities they are being left short of protection. Stronger laws are needed and cameras to catch evidence of those who hurt the non verbal and vulnerable who cannot defend themselves.
Those South Australian Parents of disability children/adults children need to send letters to their attorney general Vicki Chapman(Address: GPO Box 464 Adelaide SA 5001) Demanding cameras in all places of disabilities care, programs and accommodation – this is part of improving the safety of those with disabilities especially the vulnerable who cannot speak or defend themselves at all and rarely receive justice for harm done to them. (See letter template below).
The policy in New South Wales “The NSW Attorney General is the legal advisor to the Government of NSW. The Attorney General is responsible for representing the State and may act on its behalf in all legal proceedings in which the State is a party. preserves civil liberties”
There is need for the Attorney General to preserve the civil liberties of those in NSW with disabilities who do not have a voice and cannot defend themselves. He needs to make stronger laws to protect our disability children and adult children. The vulnerable in disabilities and non verbal need protection from harm as they have no way of being protected, speaking up for themselves or having justice procured when they are harmed. They face violence alone and undefended in all places of disability care and programs. This must not continue.
The NSW Attorney General, Mark Speakman is also the Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Minister for Families, Disabilities and Community services. Taking over from Gareth Ward. Please write to Hon Mark Speakman MP GPO Box 5341 Sydney NSW 2001 and email: Cronulla@parliament.nsw.gov.au using the template below or add your own variation and what has happened to your disability child or adult if there has been an incident occurring to them in the past.
Sign my petition which I will presenting to the Minister for NDIS and Attorney General. Change.org/disabilitycameras
Then get active for our disability vulnerable children and adult children and write to the Attorney General for your State to change laws and make our disability children and adult children Safer. (Use template below)
If we do not take action nothing will change in Australia and we will see more like Ann Marie Smith and 19 year old autistic Merna Aprem die through gross neglect and the worker gets away with it - while police call this not criminal incident!? It is actually criminal that we let people die, due to their care workers ignoring instructions or their needs when they were paid to look after them even by the NDIS. The NDIS safety commission which also does nothing, says no camera footage cant have evidence to do anything, they refuse to do what is right. That is truly a blot on the government here that they will not help those who vulnerable and protect them. We the parents must make them protect our children as they should according to the United Nations human rights charter. *Ifjamescouldtalk Action Group
Template letter for targeting your State Attorney General to demand CCTV Cameras for protection in disabilities
'Dear Attorney General
We need cameras to protect our children and adult children in places of care, respite and programs at this present time they are unprotected as those who would harm them can do so without being prosecuted as without cctv cameras there is no justice served or incidents caught and no criminal investigations occur due to lack of evidence. The perpetrators are not prosecuted and disability children and adults are not given equality of Justice because it cannot be proven what occurred and who hurt them.
Cameras are needed to find out the truth of incidents of harm and to give parents peace of mind when their children are needed to be in care or respite. Without cameras parents fear for their children’s future protection and safety. Cameras can be a deterrent and make providers more accountable, and ensure that those vulnerable with disabilities are treated with respect and dignity in places of care, respite and programs.
The non-verbal are often targeted with violence and abuse and cannot speak up or defend themselves therefore they need a voice which we must give them.
Please make it mandatory with legislation to have CCTV cameras for disabilities persons protection in all places of care so that they will no longer be at the same risk of harm. Parents then can know their vulnerable disability children and adult children will be looked after and have the protection that is their human right, and equality of justice if harm is done against them. '
Yours faithfully
