NEW CAMPAIGN TO SIGN! PLEASE HELP XX

Good Morning wonderful supporter,

Whilst we continue to promote our campaign to mandate wearable cameras, we need help with our newest petition to run alongside this one.

As you know, the current system in the UK promotes abuse of the vulnerable, by ensuring there is no accountability for those who abuse and making abuse of those with limited or no communication a very easy thing to do.

I was shocked by a part of the process when Jack reported abuse to me. When you report abuse of your loved one, a strategy meeting is held. This is where a group of professionals come together to discuss next steps and to assess the evidence. This involves social workers, school or care home staff, local authorities and the police. You, as Parents or loved ones are not allowed to attend. Typically strategy meetings are held when the loved one is suspected of abuse and that is why they are not allowed to attend. However, even if a school or care home/ professional is suspected of abuse, YOU are still banned from attending. This is the same with elderly care homes too. Yet the business or establishment accused of abuse is allowed to attend.

THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE.

We are campaigning to have this rule changed and for someone who is known to the person who has been abused to be there, to ensure their loved one is being heard and that the facts are accurately recorded.

Please take a look at our petition here and sign and share today.

Thank you so much in advance for your support. We are going to change the country for those who cannot speak for themselves. One policy at a time.
