If history is anything to go by, throwing billions of dollars at aged care will not improve the standard of care.

What will improve the care is skilled staff to resident ratios.

In any service industry, whether it’s aged care or hospitality without skilled staff and enough staff, residents or customers will receive poor care or service.

None of the billions of dollars for aged care has been earmarked for direct care and this money can easily be siphoned off to greedy owners leaving residents in exactly the same predicament, being neglected.

The three-star, 200 minutes proposed for care per day per resident is still lacking and the five-star model is 264 minutes of care or more - four hours and 24 minutes - with 63 or more minutes with a Registered nurse.

Show the government you care about our elderly and your future by demanding Skilled Staff Ratios in aged care. Five-star care!
