Hello everyone!
In my mums handbag a year or so after she died I found a photocopy of a complaint she had written to the management of the aged care facility she lived in.
A male resident had been entering her room and "invading her privacy" AT NIGHT (10.30pm). The complaint was written a couple of days before she was found dead. I don't know if he entered her room the night she died.
The story attached seems to be a common one, you'd think your loved ones would be safe in an aged care home, wouldn't you?!
Without enough staff on duty it is impossible to keep an eye on all the residents and to attend to them quickly if they need help. This is why we need staff to resident ratios - to keep our loved ones safe, day and night.
Please share the petition with your friends, family and work colleagues to sign, because we need to keep our elderly in aged care safe.
many many thanks,
Jane Seaholme
