I thought I should provide an update as I’ve been a little quiet since sharing the initial petition.....firstly, can I say thank you from the bottom of my heart for signing and sharing Bella’s story. 2023 was impossibly difficult and I experienced  a level of pain I didn’t even know existed, but knowing people were supporting us and that maybe a small bit of good could come from what had happened, well, it helped to keep me going.

The petition now has over 1k signatures, which is truly amazing, but is not enough to automatically get it to parliament for discussion. So I’ve taken a slightly different route.

I’m currently in the process of emailing each and every council in the UK, asking them directly to update their websites and display Animal Activity Star Ratings (if they don’t do so already). I’m using the petition as leverage to demonstrate how many people believe this change should happen. So far I’ve emailed over 150 councils but I’m not even half way through the list. It’s a slow process but will be worth it if it makes a difference!

As I’m now sending the petition to each council, could I please ask that you give it one last ‘push’ to increase visibility and get more signatures ready for the LA’s to view. If you could please share either via WhatsApp, your social media ‘stories’ or any social media pages,  I would really appreciate it.
