Today, there was a fire in one of the units on the 4th floor of 2390 Powell Street. Firefighters came to manage the fire and alarm.

The only working elevator is located in the 2390 Powell Street building, which is the location of the fire.

Frightened tenants on the 4th floor of 265 North Point Street, unable to use stairs due to physical limitations, were stranded in the hallway, trying to communicate with firefighters over the blaring fire alarm about what to do and where to go since the elevator servicing 265 North Point Street has been broken since November 2023.

The fire was extinguished, but this could have ended terribly.
