Hey everyone,
We hit 525 signatures! Huge thanks to everyone who's signed and shared our petition. We're so grateful for your support and we're not giving up until we make a real change in postnatal care.
So, the GOV.UK petition got rejected because it needs to be about something the Government or Parliament is directly responsible for. We kinda saw it coming, but it was worth a try!
But that's not stopping us! Our local MP suggested we look into manufacturing a self-swab kit for postnatal women who suspect they have an infection while at home, along with campaigning to mandate a dual swabbing protocol. Sure, it'll cost money, but we think it could save the NHS quite a bit of money in the long run. Rome wasn't built in a day, right?
We're also liaising with the fantastic CWVA team who will hopefully be able to help secure some funding for the campaign as well as recruit some volunteers that you'll see around Chester!
I’m also looking for like minded people who would be interested in being a part of the campaign - this would include volunteering, campaigning, some social media management and most importantly, sharing your ideas.
If you’d like to be involved, please provide a short answer on how and why, this would help me determine where best to allocate your skills.
Thanks again for everything! :)
